I'm interested in finding World War Two video footage, such as fighter gun camera film and observation film - the kind of really impressive footage you'd find on a large-scale documentary or something. I've found a few sites that offer some short clips, but what I'm really after is some kind of government site or something that would have massive amounts of this stuff archived. I've tried to find such a site but haven't come across anything that even looks promising. Any ideas on where I might be able to find a good resource like this?

You might try contacting someone at The History Channel. They've produced quite a few videos and other programs about WWII, so they may be able to give you some leads for where they got their sources.

The Imperial War Museum [collections.iwm.org.uk]. Make contact with the Press Desk.

You can buy it directly from the US gov't very inexpensively. See the Guide to Public Domain Footage at
