I get an illegal operation dialog box whenever I try to load a page with a flash file embedded. The message reads:
"The plugin perfomed an illgal operation. You are strongly advised to restart navigator."
I have uninstalled it and removed the flashplayer plugin and reinstalled it all from scratch, but it still gives me the error.
At the moment it pretty much makes firefox unuseable for me as I look at a lot of pages with flash on them (for better or worse).
Do anyone else know of a fix for this bug?
Thanks,
Rob.
There is a problem with using certain actionscript commands in Flash (a memory leak caused by LoadVars() I think) that could also be causing this. This causes Flash to hog huge amounts of CPU time... Interestingly enough the solution I saw for this was to hold down the mouse button!
If a reinstall of the latest versions of FireFox and Flash/Shockwave doesn't fix this then I'm inclined to think that the problem is on your OS....
What would be the best steps to take to completely remove the flash player from all browsers and start from scratch?
I have IE, Opera and Firefox installed.
