According to reports, Meta is planning a Twitter-like text-based platform codenames P92.

Meta's chief product officer Chris Cox said coding was under way on the platform. The tech giant aims to release it soon, although no date was given. There is some speculation that it could be as early as the end of June.

It seems the new app is launching on Thursday 6th July on iOS, and the U.S., initially, and it's now named as "Threads"

More news: Threads won't be launching in the E.U. for the time being as it appears to fail to meet E.U. data privacy rules.

I have read a few people posting on Facebook that once they click through and accept Threds they cannot opt out or leave without deleting their Instagram accounts. I hope this is simply a teathing issue.

30 million signed up first day. To deactivate, you have to delete your Instagram account as Threads is integrated into Instagram and can't be undone (at this time).
