Dutch registrar SIDN will celebrate the 1 millionth registration of a .nl domain name last December on 15 April in The Hague. The celebration comprises a congress with ICANN CEO P. Twomey and a national TV celebrity and a big party afterwards. More info (Dutch only I'm afraid): [
