Hi desmonda, welcome to the Euro Forum. Give [webmasterworld.com...] a try for starters. It's not completely up to date, but should give you an idea :)

Thanks Rumbas.. I'm in the process of trying to locate the most up to date info on these markets. It seems that all of the research stopped in 2001. The best site I've found so far is [etcnewmedia.com...]

Fact is it's hard to get to those figures. The search engines themselfes do have them of course, but they don't publish.
The only incentive for the search engines to give out the hard numbers is to woo advertizing money. So for banner type advertizing total hits/uniques are announced.
The really interesting figures are however the search traffic generated by the engines.
My fav example is T-Online.de:
It's the largest web property in Germany, ahead of MSN, Google etc. Yet Google answers probably 75% of all queries from german users, while T-online answers 5-10% max.

Some countries have fairly good periodical measurements.
You will find some hints and pretty accurate information for some european countries in the library of this forum.

Hi Monique, Welcome to WebmasterWorld (same Monique as in WRI?)

The question was posted in the Forum 18 (European Search Engines), but it also included some Asian Pacific countries, covered by Forum 32 [webmasterworld.com] (Asia and Pacific Region). I tried to find some recent threads related to Top 10 Search Engines in Australia, China, Japan, and Korea. Unfortunately some info is not so recent.

Asia Pacific overview [webmasterworld.com]

Australia: 1 [webmasterworld.com] 2 [webmasterworld.com]

China: 1 [webmasterworld.com] 2 [webmasterworld.com]

Japan: 1 [webmasterworld.com] 2 [webmasterworld.com] 3 [webmasterworld.com]

Korea: 1 [webmasterworld.com] 2 [webmasterworld.com] 3 [webmasterworld.com]

Hope this helps.
