Welcome to WebmasterWorld. I hope you will like this forum and we do need an Österreicher from Mozart's home town to help us out with all the Austrian search engines and directories. (I have been to Salzburg many times, the first in 1951, when I was taken to see the play "Jedermann" during the festival. Didn't understand a word of course, I was only a child then, but I was impressed with the booming voice shouting "Jedermann" from the castle - can still remember it exactly.)

Thank you for the links you provided. Could you also help us straighten out all the question marks in the Austrian chart above. That would be nice. I collected the search engines from many different sources just to get things started here, but I don't know if the list if complete, correct or up to date.

I would say:

add Abacho.at [abacho.at], please, because it has filtered results (only austrian).
The same with [url=//www.lycos.at/]Lycos.at[/url].
Both use the index of their german mother...

Also Austria-search [austria-search.at], I guess it´s a directory with inktomi as backup-se.

May be some austrian members know something about these.

not really, CURRENTLY you can still achieve top rankings without spending any money. they update within 1-2 days, and any 1 account can have up to 10 pages listed.

just utilise good seo practices and you should be fine.

thread not popular - wouldn't say so. We have some members here from Austria, but like everybody else they post all over the board. We are however pleased if local experts update our collective knowledge on Austrian search engines!

First let me say that I am new to SEO so maybe my line about austronaut was a little too fast. They say, that title- and meta-tags will help.

linx.at: The company behind is the "Kurier-Gruppe" all links in their bottom line point to their magazines. Kurier is Nr.2 in Austrian Newspapers and the 2 biggest Austrian Newspapers belong to one company "mediaprint".
