On 29 Januari 2003 the Dutch .nl domain will become open for foreign companies and persons.

To register you still need a Dutch street address where legal papers can be deliverd. The registry SIDN does not exept postbox adresses.

Until then the .nl domain will be restricted to Dutch companies.

Good news, thanks HitProf.
So basically the dutch reglement will be inline with the rest of the western european local regulations.

A similar development takes place in Sweden, which has had one of the most severly restricted registration os far.
Looks like there's some european agreement behind that?

Hopefully in april will nic.se kill that rule and let anyone registrate a .se so it will be free for all to get a .se not just companies you and me have the right to get it like any tld.

This is good and bad because its have been some quality of a .se you know there is a company behind the url, but its also great to get .se for personal use because se's like Evreka filtering .se if you search local and that is not fear but they will ahve to stop that when .se is for all :-)

More info on this when its clear how it works, they dont know it there seleves today.

So from today it`s possible even for us to by local .nl domains. Are there any restrictions on the number of domains that we can get?

How do we go about when it comes to the street address "problem"?

No restriction to the number of domains as far I know.

Find youself a Dutch partner to solve the address problem I'd say :)

(Or a layer who can take care of this).
