will be interesting, I wonder when they will update the newest starpagina.nl directory listings into it as well (seems ages ago they did that).
In any case it seems less spamable..

My sites are optimized for Google, and rank real good the new search engine of ilse, in fact their test engine has boosted my profits by 30%-40%.
Can't wait to see when it's online on their homepage.
So, when is it gooing online?
Will their 'dochterpagina's' use their new SearchEngine as the standard search?
Are they gooing to insert their 'dochterpagina's' at the top of the results?
Are they gooing PPC?
I like this new se. It's an improvement since the old results are controlled mostly by 'beheerders' and if your're not a 'beheerder' you have virtually no chance to get included in those results.
Ummm - So what's a beheerder?
Anyway, I remember the discussion a year or so ago, when Ilse was in talks with Fast and Google.
They didn't drop their own engine because of the costs.
Our dutch members were a bit sceptical then about the future of Ilse. Now it seems as if not only they could maintain their position on the dutch market, they also had enough resources to develop an own competitive algo.
Actually it looks like Ilse is one of the last independent SEs that is still a major player in their country/language. Bravo, Ilse.
from the voelspriet newsletter:
[voelspriet.nl...]
on indexing javascript links (also within the starpagina directory)
[webwereld.nl...]
Voelspriet also mentions [beta.ilse.nl...]
which shows: release V0.4
compared to
campus.ilse.nl which shows release v0.7
results on a quick check seem the same, release 0.7 shows the index date.
I like to think there the 2nd yahoo:
They can get perfect results through google .
But they won't, they want big banners on their results and sell their own PPC so they think don't need google.
They say in their online news site(in Dutch: [nu.nl...] that that use 'Information' from 'inside ilse' to breng the BEST results to the top with state-of-the-art ranking algoritmen.
{But i'll take a little salt with that, cause i'm om #1 for the most searched keyword in the world.)
But the big trick has still to come, they state they will crawl the web deeper when they agree with third parties.
They will use something as their DMOZ and crawl the sites it with priority.
So i wonder if their gooing to use their 'dochterpaginas' as their own dmoz or else maybe another dutch directory?
Although Ilse has not completely vanished (I never said that anyway), they seem to have lost at least 50% of their user base and that's quit a lot.
beta.ilse.nl redirects to campus.ilse.nl.
A the moment there is no evidence that the campus test site uses Ilse's final database.
Thanks for the heads up.
We have a thread on Ilse's beta search running here as well: [webmasterworld.com...]
