I have a site written in italian that Lycos ignores for the default search "italian sites". It appears when searching in all the web.
How can I overcome the bug?

You will need to supply a little more information. To appear in Lycos you may well need to pay to submit your site, but why would you want to appear on a search for 'Italian Sites' - it is a very unlikely/imprecise search term?
Feel free to stickymail me if you like, anche in Italiano.

Hi spaidermen welcome to the board

I guess you are referring to the default search option: sites in Italian".

ATW uses automatic language detection, which usually works well. Did you by any chance set a wrong meta tag for the language?

Do you have important links with english description?

Make sure you have the language attib right. Is it a .it site?

it's a .com
What's the language attib?
The links are mostly in italian apart from a "home" link and a "top model" link.
In meta tags most of the words are in italian.
Ehe same site appears in excite.it and tiscali that also use fast index

Might a "family filter" be the reason?

No, there's no adult content. And anyway why would a family filter not work when expanding the search to all the web?

try adding the following line to the header

<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="it">

if it isn't already there...if it is there then maybe lycos.it is only looking at the http headers...this may be harder to sort out

This seems a good advice. I'll let you know if it works

Worth a try, but I'm sceptical. The thing is Fast partners get the results prefiltered by Fast. It's Fast who classify pages for language.
Given that the listings are displayed under pages in Italian on other Fast partners it seems unlikely it's anything on the site that causes it not to appear in Lycos.
