Also shared here [webmasterworld.com], with the interesting observation made by Remco, that in fact Google did not grow further... which, I think, is a great success for Ilse. The independant (from any international major, that is) local engine could take it's stand against Google, the imperial steamroller.

Local search engines is a good way to limit the risk of having all your eggs in one bag.
The backward is that you should have sites in local language too: it is easy to build them, but you need staff for all the correspondence.
