I need guidance, please.
I am a wm and a small online business, since 95.
I am slowly getting back into trying to bring traffic to my site, but I see
the days of free add urls seem to be gone; and many web promotion
companies seem to be a form of spammers.
We used to make new customers from netherlands, belgium, norway, sweden, denmark.
What "do-it-yourself" no-low budget things can I do to try to get my site submitted --
legitimately, responsibly, and intelligently -- to these European se's?
I only speak English.
(For instance: I tried muddling w/ [aanmelden.ilse.nl...]
but with I'm not sure if I submitted correctly!!)
Thank you.
with the European forum here you have found the best resouce to help you with all important European search engines.
This post:
[webmasterworld.com...]
is a quick guide to all the country overview threads we're running.
Else the site search in the top nav bar should get you the info you are looking for.
For the most advanced European internet markets it's important to see how the major international engines like Google and Fast, plus Altavista and Ink, hold the lions share of the market.
So the point here would not be so much to submit and get included, but to think about local language pages,
That's the most promising strategy for B2C sites. You'll find some excellent discussions on this topic here.
But - as Ilse, the example you are pointing to shows - there are still local players you will want to target.
For the add url pages a good tip is to view the pages via an online translator.
BTW: the ilse page works like AV: the first input field is for the url (incl. [)....] The second is for the graphic code in the huge gray filed. The third input is for your e-mail address, which is mandatory.
If you need further help don't hesitate to ask - members from all Euro countries are happy to help!
