New search features at Arianna.it

Arianna [ariann.iol.it], belonging to the ItaliaOnLine Group and using Janas technology for Italian searches, has added some advanced features to the serps.
Two of the features relate to semantic, linguistic techniques. A automatic spell checker gives suggestions for "correctly" spelled queries - a feature Google has also introduced lately.
Also Arianna is able to deal with natural language queries. I have to admit my Italian is way to bad to really test this feature out, but would be interested from others to hear their experiences.

Like so many engines Arianna also has introduced an additional navigational element, which basically works like the related topics at FAST or Exalead.

Not sure how good those new features really work, but it's interesting and nice to watch European SEs all trying to add new features, improving their websearch.

Arianna is still important in the Italian search engines.
They have their own search engine for national searches; for international searches they use Fast.

In these days is very difficult to be listed; they are having problems!

The submission page is:

They adfirm that submission time is about 20 days...

You can complain to:

[arianna.iol.it...]

But it is still free!

The advanced search is interesting, but I do not know exactly how they filter results.

For example, in the advanced search (flagging Italian results) they show this phrase:

>> Cerca le pagine in italiano che contengono:

That means:

Find italian pages containing...

OK, try this search

Hotel suche

You will find sites that have not italian pages, no matter the TLD (.it or .com).
