Some people asked me about this..
I'll try to post directions for submitting to some other dutch engines later this week.

Ilse.nl
To submit to the spidered database, go here

[aanmelden.ilse.nl...]

First form field is for url
Second form field is for the ransomnote characters you see (Alá AltaVista).

Below that is the submit button with a white outline ('meld url aan'), and another button to get a new ransom note ('ik kan het niet lezen')

After clicking the submit button you get to screen with a link saying 'klik hier'. It will take you to the submit form for the pagina.nl pages..sort of a directory system in about.com style that greatly influences the rankings in Ilse.
You can suggest up to five pagina.nl sites where you want your site to be listed. The first field is for your email address, the other five to enter the name of the sites you want to be listed on.
To submit to the [subject.pagina.nl...] site you would just enter 'subject'.

To decide what pagina.nl site best fits your site, do a search for your main keywords and see what pagina.nl sites turn up.
Each listing on the serps mentions it's pagina.nl listing(s) where it says 'startpagina dochter:' and possibly more pagina.nl listing where it says 'toon meer bronnen'.

You can also contact pagina.nl site managers individually through a form. Advantage is you have room for comments here and can suggest a title and subcategory for the listing.
Especially the subcategory you end up at is important for your Ilse rankings.
If the address is abc.pagina.nl, there will be a form to suggest new sites at abc.paginamail.nl
It is quite safe to assume the pagina site manager will understand your comments in English.

The directory of Ilse itself has been reduced to almost gone though it can still be visited. It does not take new submissions as far as I know.

Wow - very helpful post. Thanks Damian!

There's only one question left, that will interest many members here: how about international sites/pages, i.e. english, french, german etc?

>international sites/pages

For the spidered database it shouldn't matter.
The matter is not adressed on the submission pages at the moment.
Wheter it is much use to submit non-dutch pages to Ilse is another issue, visitors to Ilse will generally search using Dutch words and expect Dutch results.

For the pagina.nl sites it will be less tough to get a listing for a Dutch language site as it will be perceived as unique (because of the language) much quicker.
Still if the site is of interest to the dutch, there aren't too many dutch sites with the same subject, and the subject is not to commercial you have a good chance to get listed with a non-dutch site. There are still many subjects that have not been covered well by Dutch websites.
English being easiest, then, considerably less likely, German, then French, then other languages.

Each pagina.nl site is run by a different volonteer so you need some luck to, and/or make an individual deal if you can.
