New Lycos.de + Fireball directory bargain

What a bummer! Fireball.de, belonging to the Lycos Group, has offered for some months paid inclusion to their catalog.
Lycos.de had, in additon to their PFI for websearch, announced paid inclusion to their directory as well.

Now Lycos has the new offer up on their site [lycos.de] - and guess what? When paying for Lycos directory you get included to Fireball directory as a bonus!

So having paid Fireball directory some weeks ago I will have to pay Lycos again, making my fees twice as high as what I would have to pay today....

...I'm still trying to figure out this 'lycos directory' thing. What sites does that show up on?

No just forget it, misread the page. Actually it's € 174,- each. You can sign up to both catalogues with just one submission, that's all.

OK: Lycos.de directory is rather hidden. On the front page they promote their channels instead. But on a regular search the first three matches on the serp come from the catalogue. That's why there is real value in getting listed in the directory.

Web.de: directory is on the front page, listings can drive good traffic just from people browsing through cats. Problem here is, newer paid listings push down older ones. To see them, just click on any cat on the frontpage and look for listings marked with a sun(?) icon.
