Espotting on all big regional Yahoo's!

There you have it. Espotting will be on all the biggest Yahoo's in Europe. This makes the list add up to:
UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain and Italy covering around 2,5 billion queries a year.

Yahoo! will introduce Espotting results on their German portal at the beginning of February, then in France on March 1, and both Spain and Italy later on in the year.

Ya - Europe is catching up fast. Echoing the decline of websearch as we knew it with amazing speed.
Amazing also how reality always seems to follow WebmasterWorld predicaments...

Then I thought it would be Goverture or as speculated for Yahoo.com an own PPC programme. At least you can choose where you put your money - espotting and Goverture are taking over.

Maybe someone can clarify this a bit better:

Yahoo! is subcontracting Espotting, which in turn is using results provided by Inktomi. So...back to square one: Yahoo (UK) provides results from Inktomi.

As usual, business decisions have a logic all of their own.

Nope, a misunderstang here.
The top five results are provided by Espotting. Those are PPC results. The rest of the SERPs will not come from Espotting.

It seems Yahoo.de still not displays Espotting results while they are alive on Fireball and Lycos.

Espotting's up now. Great search experience - sponsored listings are clearly recognizable, they jump to the eye - no need to look any further.

And if the searcher still is not satisfied and dares to leave Yahoo - well another window has been popped up on him with some great offers from Amazon.

Seriously - the usability of the new SERPs at Yahoo.de has increased significantly. While until a few weeks ago a search for a broad term returned SERPs with up to hundred and more categories listed - now SERPs present some stuff most users will deem sufficient.

I suspect this will decrease the number of queries going to websearch results. So a good Google listing for a broad term probably loses impact on Yahoo.

And for those who happen to get cut off of all relevant keywords by Yahoos editors, thus ranking bad, an Espotting listing can become a pretty convincing offer.

Right Heini, sponsored listings (Sponsoren-Links in german :) ) are really well recognizable it's impossible not to see them!!

Agreed. It is nice to see the paid listings so clearly marked.
