Does anyone have any information in English about the Yandex algorithm? It would be super useful to know how it compares to GG and other international engines in terms of what elements influence rankings most. I know they have a directory. Is a listing there important?

Yandex is almost neck to neck with Google.ru in my log, so it is clearly an important search engine, but I am not sure if the directory itself is used much.

Title and domain name seem to be important, but I can't figure out the rest.

Compare This search in Google [google.ru]with the same search in Yandex [yandex.ru] and see if you can figure out.

Yandex have about 50% of russian search traffic: [liveinternet.ru...]
So it is brilliant clear an important SE :)

The Yandex Directory [yaca.yandex.ru...] influence on the ranking of search results are still not clearly studied. But it drives very good traffic directly from the directory.
