I have always believed that you could not get these domains, if you were in the UK, with no registered company in these countries.

However, i have just found out that you can, and getting them hosted in the UK is possible, as long as you have a VS that will host the DNS primary and another that will host the secondary.

Does anyone know a place where i can get these domains ?

as every attempt i tried, is an 'i' in a orange circle, standing for special restriction - country registered company.

Visibility (is it worth it v's .com's)

.de = obviously Germany, can it get into Switzerland, Poland, Luxenbourg, Netherlands, any of the nordic countries.

.fr = France, can it get into french speaking African countries and the Polynesian islands, any others.

.it = Italy, are there any others.

.es = Spain, what about Mexico, and other primary speaking countries.

Anybody know the pervasiveness of these domains, please add / delete regarding countries.

I was looking at .com's, but if it is possible and will produce the traffic of, if not more, then this would be an option that i would seriously consider

Any advice welcome !

I don't understand all of your post, but you can *not* get a .fr unless you are an official entity registered within France. You can get some things like .com.fr or .nom.fr without any official documents, but those are pretty silly-looking.

Caine you´re just about right with the restrictions mentioned.
For everybody interested: a good overview for each country´s regulations is to be found in the respective country threads.
I didn´t fully understand anyhow why you want to get those domains. For visibility a dot.com with name/keyword in the targeted language will do fine. Major searchengines and directories go for languages and country related topics. Especially when you are thinking about how far a local version of a site can get you, it´s more about languages.

There are however registrars enabling you to register those TLDs even if you don´t meet the local requirements.
Those TLDs will anyhow not help in other countries. A.de for example is worthless in Poland, Netherlands etc.
