Web hosting in Germany

Why it is so difficult to find?

I am unable to find any good host with a physical presense in Germany but having web site in English. I found many good hosts but unfortunately all of them are in local language. I can't read/understand German :(

Could some advise me of some good hosts in local market with English version web site or sticky me.

Let me know if you find a good Deutschland hosting company. I'm looking for this also.

Some things to consider... what if you need tech support. Will there be a language barrier?

Can you think of any other downsides of going with a company that can't speak english well? Most Germans in the tech field can read/write english.

1und1 (1and1) and strato but im not sure thats also in english, there are so many hosting in germany.

There are but all of them are in German. There is none in English. I think my only option is to host in USA somewhere and hope that search engines will pickup my German pages one day.

Do you think I will screw up by hosting a German website in USA?

1and1 seem to have a english site as well [order.1and1.com...]

they are not the cheapest and not the best but a big player and quite reliable.

If you place an order with 1and1, they host your web site in USA not Germany. I am still looking for one.

try regfish ..or centron..
I can sticky you a phone number for regfish if you wish? as their site is in german but they do speak english ..

BTW regfish also host in the USA as a dotcom but their original business is in the dot de and hosted in germany ..

If you order at 1and1.co.uk you will be hosted on German IP addresses.

You should call their tech support and ask them to confirm it.

ADDED: I should point out that they are not the best but do an adequate job for many at a good price.

I dont think the link to your forum will stay up for long ( if you check the TOS here you'll see why ) ..
and unless raja4 reads german ( which I kind of get the idea he doesnt ) ..He wont be able to read your registration proceedure in order to register and make his post to ask anything in your fora ..

half the sites nav system bar is in english ..
but none of the registration proceedure is ..;-)

presumably the german hosting companies that you discuss dont want customers from outside the german speaking community ( which is odd considering that their banners "pre load" in english prior to their displaying ) ..

thought the EU was supposed to be about inclusion and community ..not exclusion via linguistics

www.1and1.com hosts your sites in USA.

Just talked and I think I will go with centrons as their servers are in Frankfurt and tech support was replying to live chat in English.
