RealNames i Europe

Is it $100 pr. country? Confused.

I was wondering what you guys experiences are with RN.

I'm aware that the realnames/internet keywords are NOt sending me any traffic. However, I haven't really given it much effort either.

I'm a bit confused about the country thingy. They state that you have to buy the RN specific to each country, and after testing a few I can see that RN's bought to support Denmark only shows up in AV.com and NOT in AV.dk!

Say if you want to target 10 european countries you have to buy the same RN 10 times and point them to same domain with different language settings?

I think RN have shot themselves in the foot and it is not worth much - but clients are asking and I want to give them my best answer ;)

It's baffling. I just discovered the same and also the fact that the RealName I am paying for almost doesn't make it to my log anymore. 34 accesses for Januari 2001 on a list that is topped by Google at 2300. (Same keyword in both cases.)

Did you see the section on their site where they are inviting people to become resellers of RealNames internationally? Maybe that's the reason. In order not to compete with their future national name registrars, they have discontinued showing old RN:s outside of altavista.com And what about the price tag? Surely, they could not charge $100 for smaller countries. These hits are expensive as it is. Couldn't find anything about prices internationally, though.

Just had one of their reps on the phone. She said that the $100 IS per country.
E.g. if you want to target 10 countries you have to buy the RealName 10 times.

Phew! I know where those $1.000 are better spend.

She couldn't tell me what the advantage of becoming a reseller was though. Mailed them, so let's see..
