Serious questions remain about how customers are treated on the Internet. And although the biggest problems aren't immediately visible to site users, how companies go about collecting, sharing, and selling their customers' personal information could eventually take a big toll on the trust essential in any business-to-consumer relationship.
This a serious concern, if the user does not trust you to keep their information sacred, you risk pushing them to other suppliers who do not share/sell your information.
Sounds like a good reason to get that privacy policy up.
