1) My site is directed towards a specific community which is about 1,5 million large. Suppose all of them use the web site, how many pageviews am I going to get?
2) How can I know about a specific site - not mine - how many pageviews it gets?

Impossible to tell. If all of them look at one page, you'll get 1.5 million PVs. If 10% of them look at 5 pages, you'll get .75 million PVs. When you say "specific community", do you actually mean a specific ONLINE community? If so, then the %age of those that you can attract to your site will be higher. If you mean a specific GEOGRAPHIC community, then, the number will be much lower. I think Sweden has the highest rate of Internet connection in the world, about 55%.

Basically - You can't. You could always try just asking the owner what hisa figures are, but that is really confidential business intelligence, and you aren't likely to get an answer. You may be able to make some inspired guesses if you can find other online references to the site, some site owners have given media interviews for instance, where they DO discuss that sort of information. Some sites publish approximate figures for potential advertisers, showcasing the demographics and reach of the site.

I sometimes find stats.domain.tld works.

Not always though.

Also look for a counter on competitors sites. They usually start with an inaccurate number, but generally record accurate traffic over time. Record the number on a Sunday morning or whatever, come back next Sunday and record it, subtract to find the difference, and divide by 7. Equals page views for the index per day.

It may sound simplistic, but few people think of it, and there are many around foolish enough to still have a counter.

And try domain.com/stats as I think it is the most popular location.
