Before I integrate PayPal into my site to be able to accept donations, are there legal issues involved? does the entity accepting the payments (me) have to be incorporated, a registered non-profit, etc? What is the deal with taxes on payments I can receive (I am in NYC, btw)?
Any help would be appreciated!

They are a few legal issues you should investigate first.
I'm not sure exactly what it is but I've heard that beginning May 12th, paypal is coming out with new rules and regulations directed at specific industries.
I wish I had a bit more info about it but one way to find out would be to look at the paypal website.
