Navigation: "Store" button vs "Buy" button. Which is better?

Is clicking "Store" less a commitment/less threatening than "Buy?"

What do you use in the navigation bar?

Are there any studies on this?

I naturally lean toward having a "Store" button in the navigation, because clicking on "Store" seems less of a commitment to buy something, and almost an invitation to look around, like a products page.

Going into a store echoes the offline experience, and is non-threatening. But once the surfer is in the store they are only one to three clicks away from consummating their purchase.

Is "BUY" in the navigation bar more effective?

Main thing is don't mislead your customer. If the button just takes them to a product description "store" is fine. If it take them to a screen asking for quantiy, and c.card infor. I think "buy" is better. Add to cart and view cart provides a good intermediate step if you have shopping cart capability.
