We use all sorts of bogo's and let me say they are a real pain in the a**. These are currently some of the promos we offer:
buy A get A free or at a discount
buy A get B free or at a discount
buy A get B and C free or at a discount
buy A get B or C free or at a discount
buy Xqty of A get B free or at a discount
buy $X of A get B free or at a discount
We use Microsoft Site Server with an extremley customized VBScript pipeline component. When you add item A to your shopping cart you come to an intermediate page that says something like your purcahse qualifies you for the folllowing bonus would you like to take advantage of the offer. I have this page for 2 reasons, 1 so the customers sees the bonus and knows they are getting it, and if the item isn't free.
Originally it was just an inelegant solution that I wasn't particularly fond of. But, we've found that our customers really like having the bonus pack listed. It seems to give them a bit of comfort knowing that they're putting into their cart an item that's a bargain rather than putting an item in and getting a bargain later. The psychological impact of knowing up front that they're getting a good deal has done wonders for our bottom line.
Any other BOGO succeses?
