Hi all!
I'm new at all these e-commerce stuff, so, forgive my silly questions! I'm currently building an online cinema ticketing system.. i'm using Dreamweaver Mx, ASP, VBScript and MySql.. running on IIS.

1. The problem I'm facing is, after creating tables in MySql database, how do i link the database to my webpage? for example, i want to show a list of movies in my webpage, i can't possibly insert every movie manually.. i want to link the table with the webpage so that it will automatically be shown in the website.. how do i do this?

2. Also, a ticketing system is different from a products ecomm system rite? i don't have to create a cart table because the user will choose which movie to watch and then book it.. so, i'll just have to create a booking table?

3. Another question, i've already created a login page.. how do i specify which features are only members based? such as, i'm also having a message board feature but it's only for members.. similar to this forum.. how do i go about doing it?

That's about it.. all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Sorry for my long post! i'm just lost! Have a great day!

Hi

If you log onto Macromedia home page and search for tutorials on ASP, there are absolutely loads of them.

I have been down a similar road but chose to use PHP, there are far more ASP tutorials than PHP ones available.

Thanks curlykarl!

I was wondering, is there a certain scripting that i need that after the user has logged-in.. all the pages he/she will access will be allowed..? or do i have to create different pages for members and non-members?

thanks again..

hi jocie
you'll probably have better luck asking scripting questions in the perl/php scripting or .net/asp scripting forums

[webmasterworld.com...]
[webmasterworld.com...]

you might like to read back through old threads there because your questions have almost certainly been asked and answered before.
