We are seeking a (recommended) e-commerce solution for our Client's websites. We have been using a solution for a while now, however it is not meeting our expectations.

We need for it to be stand-alone (not hosted), run off a linux server, be able to import/export products via excel, have an unlimited number of products available, have layers of categories (example: Widgets; Red Wigets; Small Red Widgets), be cost effictive and fully custoimizable in the design to streamline into our Client websites and have a nice user-interface for our Clients to maintain their inventory. These are just the basics, if anyone has recommendations, please let me know! :)

jady,

probably not the answer you have been looking for, however have you thought of having bespoke software writtens specific to "exactly" what you want.

personally thats the route we have been using for quite some time, with help from our Russian friends.

Actinic has the features that you want.

Actinic is used on around 10,000 shopping sites worldwide, the majority in the UK, but a substantial number in the US. I should declare that I'm biased, as I work for the company.
