Just a general question about how everyone advertises their ecommerce store? We mainly use google adwords, small magazine ads and ebay auctions.

What kind of store? I think it's dangerous to generalize on questions like this; it really depends on the products you are selling and the markets surrounding them. Are you in a niche business with little competition, or in a category that "everybody" is trying to make money in?

Not sure I would call portable audio devices a "niche" business - you may be focused on a single product line, but at least a thousand other web sites are focused on the same product line. A niche business in this category would be portable audio devices for the blind, or for hi-fi purists, or for audio book listeners. I can buy a portable audio device at thousands of places online, and hundreds offline.
So, why should I buy one from you? The answer to this question determines what your message should be and where your ad dollars are most effectively spent.

I think more than a few people here could write a book on marketing a business online!
So I think your best bet is to read up on the board here, and then read some more, and then some more after that. :)
