I was unaware until recently that worldpay made the currency rates available daily (I believe only for the currencies you have on your account with them).

you access it by using the url

https://select.worldpay.com/wcc/info?op=rates&instId=<inst Id>&infoPW=<password>

password field may not be required

and it gives you a text field with the currency rates - which are used by worldpay that day.

this would be a great opportunity to have accurate currency rates onsite for overseas visitors, and not have to worry about updating them daily. But has anyone implemented it successfully?

feel free to move this if not correct forum - i put it in ecommerce because it's worldpay and not a programming language specific request.

Mango : I tend not to put currency into the decision process. Let the user pick the product at payment time (Select Junior) they can select a currency if the default is not good enough.

mangotude I purchase from several UK sites and like to see the conversion, when it's not available I have to hunt down that currency converted and sometimes never make it back to the site (just remembered gotta get the cost for asp sheriff). So from a shoppers point of view I like them on sites.

thanks for the feedback. There is a specific reason for having the currencies available - it wouldn't interfere in the checkout process, but would be available on a stand alone page and also for the offline orders we receive -- it's so much easier for the customer to pay in their own currency rather than getting a money order raised etc - and using an automated currency script would mean the page doesn't have to be constantly updated and then ties up with the amount they pay if they decide to use worldpay.

just havent' seen a solution as to how to implement it.
