Being in Google should increase your traffic by 200% and an increase in sales should follow.

What do people mean when they say sandbox on here? Looked for a definition but all it comes up with is 'something a child plays in' or something to do with a java applet... and neither seem correct

well,
say today is 1 Jan 2006 and you created a website with keywords like My first keyword, my next keword, then on 2 of Jan you FTPed your site and you have the site online, you go to google and search for My First Keyword or My next Keyword and guess what no matter how good your site is Mr google will never show it in the result... you have to wait 6 months

Thats my understanding...

6 Months?! That's a bit harsh. Anyway congrats on finally getting out the google's sandbox - I hope it treats your site well :)

For sandbox related questions (like how come you're not showing up and how to get out) I suggest you start with the sandbox threads in the Google library [webmasterworld.com] and then if you still feel like you need help then post your question in Google forum.
