Online sales still growing from the holidays

Fundamental shift (growth) from offline to online shopping?

Is anyone else seeing steadily growing sales this year? Across a number of industries sales started going up in late October, there was a holiday surge and sales are still surging? We're talking all-time highs in April/March.

Industries including apparel, shoes, home improvement, jewelry, personals and others are still at or in some cases, well above December holiday levels.

Real estate in the new home market (US) is way down from last year but retail sales just keep going up.

Anyone else seeing this?

I am in the apparel industry. So far April 2006 has been a bad month in terms of sales. But my overall monthly revenue has grown over 100% over last year.

Sales in april 2005 was really good (relative to last year's sales), I am not exactly sure what is causing the drop this year.

Yes, I am seeing this too..

Across 4 ecomm sites in different industries we made big "plateau moves" in mid October 2005 - after a brief christmas/new years lull, we are back on record pace - running +35% over same month last year...

So far we are at 90% of last years April sales, and it is only the 17th.

We passed our April 2004 sales yesterday.

Oddly enough, my sales in the first 3 months of 2006 have exceeded sales of 2005 of the same months for at least 50%, with the exception of April. So far sales amount of April 2006 is around the same of April 2005, but number of sales have dropped ~20%. This is the first time in 3 years that my site has experienced a drop like this.

I've seen it too... currently recognizing a 20% increase in traffic and sales since the holiday season. It seems to be kicking into overdrive this month.

Our sales to date online are just a hair under $400,000 from Jan 1 (need to sell just ONE more cell phone charger or other $80+ item).

That puts us about 20% YTD over last year - and I counted last year as the full jan1 - april30.
