Amazon has a buyer protection called A to Z.
here is how the scam works.
Buyer buys item is shipped to Amazon address for buyer. They have it shipped to a closed business. Buyer contacts shipper rerouted package to a new address.
All this takes days. Package is rerouted buyer waits till time has expired in this A to Z protection files a claim. Gets FULL refund then contacts shipper has package rerouted to address and delivered.
Nice way to get free stuff.

I filed another appeal but as it is now I am out product shipping Amazon fees and the little #*$! has my stuff

That's a buyer scam taking advantage of legitimate services. We've had to divert deliveries in the past because they were being shipped to our hotel, but the delivery took too long and we had to get it redirected to our home in time for our return.

I agree, it needs tightening to stop the scammers taking advantage.

On more than one occasion I have had Amazon orders take far longer (weeks longer) than expected and Amazon routinely offers a full refund. I know that there are legitimate reasons that shipments can be delayed so I continue waiting and the package eventually is delivered but it would be delivered even if I took the refund. I imagine in that case the seller would lose out unfairly though no fault of their own. That does not seem right.

I just returned something via Amazon and got a refund almost immediately the post office scanned the barcode.

I wonder what happens to my return of the out-of-specifcation product which was no good to me? Does the third-party seller get the knowledge of the true problem with the goods, or just get penalised? What actually happens to the returned items?

There are lots of questions over practices that I think need some attention.

engine pretty sure your fast refund was probably a product Amazon stocks.
When a refund is requested for our product the customer (if a prime customer can ship it back through Amazon) if not a prime they have to buy a return label. Either way we won't issue a refund until the product is returned.
This A to Z deal is ripe for abuse.

In my case, it was a third party seller but shipped by Amazon.

I'm confused.
Amazon has a buyer protection called A to Z.

I assume that the buyer pays for this protection, is this correct?
Who gets the money?
This is an insurance, thus in theory if the product is returned, lost or whatever, then the value of the claim should be paid by the money paid into the insurance pool. Am I understanding this correctly, that you are saying that Amazon is collecting the insurance fee, but then when a claim is made, it simply charges the vendor for the value of the claim (in this case the full refund)? It as if you bought car insurance, then had an accident and then the insurance company made the car company refund you the value of the car.

Engine yea 99.99% Amazon inventory is 3rd party Amazon only stocks big high volume sellers.
I don't want any part of that or prime seller (that's another Amazon trap).
That's why the quick refund.
