I've been trying to get my head around the 'Sandbox' on PayPal but it's harder than you think! I think the idea of it was so that you can test your ecomm apps before they go live, but how? I've routed around, but can't find an simple tutorials!

Have you read through any of the information on the PayPal Integration Center? There should be some step-by-step instructions for setting up Sandbox accounts for testing, based on which solution you are testing (Pro, Standard, etc.).
