France has approved a 3% tax that will be levied against large digital firms [
bbc.com ] and as it will effect large US tech firms like google, facebook, Amazon etc Trump has threatened to add tariffs to french wine in retaliation.
I think this tax is absolutely fair as digital services can effect the commerce of a country greatly both digital and physical so if digital companies are only paying tax in their home or registered countries it is not fair to the effected countries that are not receiving any of the tax but just the negatives. There needs to be a more global solution though as the tax system is completely outdated and decades behind the current situation - it needs to learn to move faster.
