Since the Wayfair decision last year, I'm finding it a challenge to find any Canadian eCommerce sites that are collecting US sales tax for states that have economic nexus.
I understand that US states are losing tax revenue, due to e-commerce, however, the solution is to collect sales tax at importation by the Federal Government via Customs & Excise. This is how most countries in the World does this.
It's bad enough when a Federal Government tries to claim Extraterritorial jurisdiction over foreigners, but when non-sovereign entities such as internal states and provinces and municipalities try to push tax collection without compensation for tax collection, it's ludicrous.
How is everybody else outside the US, handling economic nexus in the affected states?
