I am working with a client for last 8 months everything is going good with them someone suggested them to move to Shopify and it will open more opportunities for them to increase their revenue I am not a marketing person but I doubt why they cannot improve revenue with opencart?

Anybody here can help and explain what options are available on shopify which are not on opencart from developing end I can tell you have more control with opencart.

Thanks in advance.

Yes it's a wrong decision as the only smart one is to move to woocommerce !

you have to pay shopify a monthly fee, why would you do that when you have a working cart anyway.
they should focus on marketing their products themselves - imo

They were a markwting victim.
Opencart works just fine, maybe its a bit more robust, but at least when you have all the modules/extensions you need you don’t have other things to pay, instead of hosting off course, while on Shopify you have the monthly fees + pro features for apps.

Actually i think Opencart its better/easier to optimize in seo terms.

Shopify = more monthly money spent without marketing
