Hello,
Does the page size apply to an ecommerce site with 200 products. Each product page is broken down corrrectly. With out adding a page two for each catagory, my pages are getting alittle large.
I am trying to apply Brett's 26 step program. I know this was written 3 plus years ago, with DSL, how small is necessary?
My concern, if I make a page two, will the products on page two not sell as well?
Thank for the advise,
LD

Sounds like maybe you need to break things down into more subcategories? Without seeing the site, it is hard to say.

Images will be the greatest contributor to page size. Too many, or improperly optimized images will bring your site to a crawl. For larger images, consider adding a thumbnail image linked to the larger image, instead of making all of your users load the large image whether they want to see it or not.

Page size isn't the only thing that will make your site slow. Using a lot of nested tables in your layouts will make your pages render slowly after they have loaded, because it takes your browser a while to figure out all of the table widths and heights.
