Case Study 1
Task - Client requires a quick, efficient and cost effective method of delivering weekly product specials to its double opt-in email database. It's a small regional client who has less than 500 subscribers.
Solution - Constant Contact with PayPal integration. CC offers the option of integrating PayPal payments into your email marketing campaigns.
What a success this has been! Set up 10 campaigns at a time in advance (per month) through Constant Contact. Schedule them for a specific day and time. Usually on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, Thursday mornings and sometimes Friday afternoons.
Embed your PayPal Buy Now buttons in those email campaigns. Offer 5, 10, 15, 20% discounts if they order through the email special.
I've yet to find a more cost effective solution and the above Case Study is something I've carried forward with other clients.
What have you done with PayPal to improve your product and service sales?
Would prefer the European way (slowly arriving in the States) of automatic deductions since they are free .. but alas they would not provide me with a back end. And IPN has been pretty stable for several years.
Developed a whole real time online booking machine with their backend which is running and running.
They do very little online sales but there are a few products which are just easier to deliver via PDFs. Because of the lower volume of transactions and even though they have their own brick and mortar merchant account, enabling their existing account to take Internet orders would have cost them more than the few sales they get.
Paypal was the best solution for their needs and limited their cost, while offering them something practical to use. Of course the customer was very happy with this.
