California County Sales Tax

Should I request customer for a state wide sales tax or by county?

Hi everyone,

I have a question, my business is based in California, and california has about 60 counties which charges different sales tax.

Should I be charging each of my california customers base on where they reside? or can I charge a flat California wide sales tax of 8.25%?

So is it your customer's county taxed? or your business location taxed?

You charge the tax rate of the county your business is located in. So if it is 8.25, then you charge 8.25.
