Hello,

New member here. I'd like to refer to an old thread, "Revenue Mainly From Existing Customers - Reorders?", specifically msg # 4146398 from digitalv wherein he/she discusses membership clubs, autoship orders and gift cards.

We are setting up a new eCommerce site to sell a very small number of products and would like to include those sort of options (mix n match enough to earn discount and.or free shipping, customer accounts, autoship option, gift cards). I'd like some recommendations on which eCommerce package makes the most sense. Our webpages are being developed in html5, css3 with bootstrap for web responsive design.

Thank you.

btw, the old thread is here: [webmasterworld.com ] ... I hope it's ok to include that here.

I'm leaning toward a hosted solution now... something like 3dcart, volusion, bigcommerce... I don't know yet. This shouldn't be this difficult, lol.

It is not difficult. It is just deciding what will accomplish what you desire. If this is first foray in ecommerce then using something established might be what you need AT THIS TIME.

Sometimes you just need to get STARTED.

Thank you both for the welcome. :)

tangor, I think you're right about getting started. I'm leaning toward 3dcart. Unfortunately, the questions I've asked on their "Pre-Sale Questions" forum have yet to appear, much less be answered... not a good sign. Has anyone here used 3dcart?

Thanks in advance.

scronch - have you tried using our site search for 3dcart? There have been numerous discussions about it.

Here's one: [webmasterworld.com...]

Good point, that was pretty rude of me. I've now searched through a lot of the key phrases and found out some things, but not everything I'm after. Although I did some general google searches and actually found the hardest one was hiding in 3dcart's forum (didn't find it there before) -- they can do a Buy 3 get 1 free promotion. You actually create multiple promotions... buy 3-5 get one free, buy 6-8 get two free, and so forth... I'm ok with that, I just wanted to know they could do it!
