UK Ecom. DEAD this week!?

In our sector we usually have a lull in the summer months and during school holidays. But this week after the schools go back we are DEAD for business, hits just about the same as previous months.

I take a little upside from the fact our suppliers/manufactures are the same, some sitting in the sun, some twiddling there thumbs. Not seen such a week in all 8 years of trading.

Any one else?

My site supports a B&M business rather than ecom but traffic has definitely been down over the past few weeks. Nothing critical but enough to notice.

Same here. Years of trading and never seen such a drop in such a short amount of time.

Here in USA, June has been a down month for many sectors of ecom for the last dozen years that since I have been working with it.

A lot of people are vacationing & spending time outdoors during the summer instead of shopping in general.
Try to make a try to make this a inventory management and marketing opportunity

Stock For Summer Sales
DIY items are HOT during the summer, think about the honey do lists or other product trends.

Clean Out Old Inventory.
It is a good time to do some house cleaning by clearing out overstocked items.
Crazy days sales will generate revenue and clear off shelves.

Build the Brand and Loyalty
Give out coupons for each sale to have them come back once the summer winds down.
Remind them they have a coupon at that time.

For UK business, there is a major banking problem which occurred earlier this week and it may be contributing.
