There are a number of possibilities but they boil down to two classes:

1. Your site is attracting people who don't intend to buy
2. Your site is attracting people who then decide to buy elsewhere

2. Will break down to either not liking your price / product range or poor site design putting them off

Start by looking at your site stats for sources of traffic and search arguements.

I'll add to what Piatkow said:

3 (or maybe 1b). It might depend on your industry. Users in some product areas are obsessive researchers and do A LOT of looking around (and generate a lot of clicks) before they finally buy. Know your shopper.

Look at how long your users spend on site, and how many times they come back. That might yield some clues. Also, compare the number of sales closed on the first visit versus a later return visit.

It can sometimes be useful to figure out the ratio of sales versus unique visitors, not just the ratio of sales versus clicks.

Install a decent analytics package and you can find out all that and more.

First check out exactly what your web host provides in terms of stats and analytics. If you don't regularly log into your cpanel you might not be aware of everything that they provide.

You can install analytics on your site by creating an account with the analytics provider of your choice then adding their code snippet to every page of your site. The best way to do that is usually with a site-wide include.

Google Analytics is popular but it's by no means the only analytics service out there.

FYI we do not do site reviews on the pubic side of this forum, but you can ask for a site review in the private, paid section.

I just took a peek at the site in your profile and without doing a full review I'll advise you to go over your pages carefully to find and fix technical issues.

I clicked one link that should have led to product information and I got redirected to a different domain that had nothing to do with what you're selling. Things like that are guaranteed to undermine a shopper's confidence and mess up your sales funnel.

Get more text on those product pages. Put it in proper paragraph form. Talk to the people who talk to phone customers and find out what kind of questions people ask and put that kind of info on your product pages.

It is really important that people think they are ordering the right item. Make them feel comfortable that they have found the item they are looking for.

Best of luck!

I never assume everything works. Every time I make changes, I systematically go through, clicking everything. It's humanly impossible to make everything perfect. You're going to screw stuff up, and the only way to find out is to be super meticulous and double check everything. People aren't going to bother telling you. I had situations where somebody mentioned something didn't work, years after it was created. It sat there all that time, totally broke.

I took a look at your website (in the profile). You are offering free shipping, and it's a niche market, which is a positive. I don't see any major issues, other than what buckworks already commented on.

In 55 years I had no toilet problems, and the most damage I have done is broken the flush handle off of one toilet, so I can't see a high demand for the product. Most of the demand will come from plumbers, and if the sales channel is anything like over here in Canada, they are already getting a nice discount below retail.

Also, with only 3 sales in 500, you have very little statistics. Until you have a sample size of at least 100, I would make no decision based on your stats.

Is the traffic organic? or are you using adwords. If you are using adwords, then you should looking at better targeting your customers.
