Managing orders in MS Access & Accounting

Hello,

I have a couple of questions on a ecommerce site I have. I have about 10-15 orders a day going through and want to know the best way to manage the fulfillment of these orders.

Does anyone know of any low-cost Microsoft Access packages out there that I can use to import orders in and manage the invoice printing, marking shipped orders, sending emails, etc...? I currently have my site on a ecommerce host, but i'm not satisfied with their fulfillment features. I can't customize the order invoice with my logo and design.

Also, any basic ways to keep track of the accounting side of it? If I use quickbooks, do I need to enter every single order in there. Or do people batch up their orders on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. i think i would have a hard time trying mapping the fields and converting the data with quicbooks. i can export the data out of my ecommerce host, but don't want too many steps to do on a daily basis. this is being run by my wife and I.

So I'm basically trying to get a feel for how people handle their accounting.

You can import data into quickbooks from any database - you'll need to write a query or generate a report in the database that will output in comma delimited ascii - read the quickbooks help to see the formatting requirement - it worked for me for 2 yrs.

Mal's eCommerce has a Windows client called mOrders. It is not a complete product in itself. It does provide for some order management, but utilizing the export feature is probably best. You can import the export file to your favorite accounting or CRM (customer relations management) package. I am looking into importing my web store data into an auction management client that provides the CRM for me.

Wingslevel, were you importing your orders on a line item item basis for each order you had. Includign customer information as well? Or were you batching them up on a daily basis.
