Paypal has a good reputation and very long history. It supports credit cards used in most countries.

You are starting from the wrong side of the problem. First you need to determine what processors are available in your country (I am assuming that your bank account is not held offshore) and then decide which is the most suitable for your requirements.

There are very few countries that Paypal cannot service. Which country are you in?
Also, in which country are your customers?

Customers do not need a PayPal account to make a Paypal payment. They can make one-off payments through PayPal using their credit card.
For you to accept payment you will need a Paypal account and the best solution will be to use a bank account outside of your country that is operated by a relative.

Not sure if anybody has mentioned it yet, but Stripe has been working very well for me. It's fully-integrated and they charge similar fees as PayPal with no monthly fee.

I personally prefer using Paypal. It one doesn't have very many products, you don't even need a shopping cart to use Paypal payment buttons.

The problem is that Paypal does not allow incoming payments in many countries.
You could see if Skrill will accept you for a merchant account (which allows credit card payments).
I am assuming that your bank account is not held offshore)
An offshore back account will not help - payment providers accept or not based on country of residence/incorporation.
