Hello,

I have a Joomla website project that is going to use Magento for a shopping cart solution. There will be a bridge between Magento and my client's ERP system, Dynamics NAV.

A couple of questions for the pros out there:
1) How do I make so that the check out is secure?
2) Does the ecommerce have to be on a separate server?

Thanks for any help.

Hello KWG, welcome to WebmasterWorld!

What part of the checkout are you referring to? The web protocol needs to go from HTTP to HTTPS so you'll need an SSL for that.

You'll need to review the code to be sure it's up to date and handles injection attacks and malformed data.

Research PCI compliance. The bank the client uses will have a document on their requirements for compliance.

Be sure the database is secured.

Each one of these items could be a rabbit hole with lots of twists and turns to achieve the goal of security. I hope you're ready for a big time suck....

thanks for your reply lorax,
i thought i was to receive alerts when a notification came up, but never did. i am sure i double checked to have alerts sent...?

anyhow, i may be needlessly spending time researching all this, when the company i work for has a vendor who takes care of all that. i am merely building the front end. i apologize for not mentioning that.

i appreciate the links you sent - i will check them out carefully.

thanks again!
