What percentage do you *really* pay to your payment processor?

With all of the hidden fees and shadiness, what percentage of your credit card volume do you actually pay to your payment processor? With my old one it was hard to tell because they took some fees out of each deposit and then more at the end of the month, but a rough calculation puts it at over 5%!

A fraction over 3.5% - no fees on top of transaction charges but a GBP135 retention against chargebacks.

5% is about what mine works out to be as well. They do their best to prevent me from discovering exactly how much they take each time they "wet their beak."

Yes they do.... I've switched to Braintree and their flat-rate should save me a bundle.
