Has anyone else here received an emailed receipt from paypal for an expensive item that is clearly being sent to someone other than teh account holder?

Ive received two today, they look perfect and theres no give away - theres a link at the bottom of the email, telling you how to dispute the purchase, this is where I imagine you download the spy ware from.

Not nice.

I have been getting those as well as one telling me that I can be a Power eBay seller. Fortunately - none of them are ever sent to my paypal or eBay email addresses so I know they are fake even before reading them

An old article ..but I was intrigued by Essex boy's use of "spook email" and googled it to see if anyone else had used this term ..
try "spook email" ..
#1 is interesting readng which I dont remember having seen when we debated this issue here at great length..

As said many times before if the banks and paypal etc were really serious about preventing this stuff they could at least not allow their images to be hotlinked straight out of their own servers and into the arriving emails ..also the fact that they do get way more traffic to certain of their images should alert them and hopefully the forces of Laura Norder to the particular fake emails as they are instigated ..and shut them and their originating servers ..and follow up to get the folks who rent the server facility..

so ..one can dream can't one :)

I get loads of these, didn't think they were about spyware though, thought it was about capturing your details by getting you to "log in" to dispute the payment using the supplied link to a mock paypal site.

I assumed they were for spy ware or though they could just be about capturing your detailes, Ive deleted the address concerned.
