hi
i sell goods on amazon uk as a uk resident/seller some, to german buyers.

i just received what it seems to be (as it is all in german), a demand from finanzamt for 900 odd euros.

has anyone had similar and/or could offer any advice regarding?

i believe this finanzamt is the "german hmrc"?

I have not experienced this before. Are you sure the demand came from the company?

Whatever it is I would make sure 100% it's legit and not some sort of scam.

If it came by letter I would suspect that it would probably be legit.

If by email then probably a scam.

Scam - I am in Germany and never got anything from the Finanzamt.
Even if you sell to buyers in Germany, you are not reponsible for any taxes in Germany - as a UK citizen, you pay your taxes on your income in the UK and nowhere else. And as an Amazon affiliate you shouldn't worry about foreign customers at all. As a seller (of own good) I am not 100% sure, but usually nothing to worry about.

To check if this is a scam mail, copy some text of it into the search field of your favourite search engine. Quite often you find some results discussing this same mail.
