Adding Landing page to off the shelf cart

Will it affect page ranking

Hi All

I purchased an off the shelf cart a few months back and put a store online.
It looks nice and is easy to navigate for users but is hopeless for SEO- and googlebot doesnt index the site fully only index.html
The index page is really just an advert for the vendor.

I want to add my own landing page and keep this store in a folder. I will then SEO the landing page

Question- Will this affect my recently earned Google Page rank. Do I just need to keep the same name.

Has anyone done anything similar. I have little experience with Web Design, and that is why I chose the off the shelf cart

Thanks in advance

It is called ShopFactory version 6

I think later versions will have more SEO.

adding some landing pages will only help, you can also link to them from your cart page, even making a mini html site that matches your cart look is a good idea.

Yeah, flat HTML files would probably be a good idea if you can't do URL re-writing. I programmed my e-commerce app to allow us to enter a 'fake' page name when we add products. So when we add a product, there is a field called "Page Name".. so instead of http://www.mydomain.com/product.aspx?id=2 it will create all links etc as http://www.mydomain.com/2/my-new-product.aspx which google will index nicely. Google *did* index the ugly URL before, but it ended up in the Supplemental Listing.

ShopFactory version 6 - Thank you! Thank you! Ive a brother using this and he wont listen to me about the weaknesses of this package. Spiderability is it one of many flaws.

He keeps saying 'yeah but it looks good doesnt it?'

Im gonna point this post out. Made my day.

Give upand use Actinic by far the best.

We use Html landing pages tailored to the PPC search keyword...A nice way to make a specific offer to a target audience..
