Google Checkout Update: Changes to customer email anonymization feature
From email:
"Good news — based on your feedback, we're making an update to Google Checkout that will help you provide better service to your customer.
"Starting on 1/23/13, we’re turning off the customer email anonymization feature for all new purchases made with Google Checkout.
"Although this feature is not used by all Checkout shoppers, you’ve told us that using Google Checkout to communicate with customers via anonymized email addresses makes it difficult for you to provide efficient and speedy customer service.
"So, we’re turning it off.
"We hope direct communication with all of your customers will enable you to provide better service, faster refunds and more accurate risk assessments."
