Amazon UK To Trial Corner Shop Deliveries [telegraph.co.uk]

Amazon is to step up its assault on the UK’s retail market by delivering parcels to nearly 5,000 corner shops and newsagents around the country.

The online shopping giant has quietly started trialling the scheme on a small scale with items such as books and clothes, and plans to roll it out nationwide.

They have done it for years here.. France..
No small retailer has complained, in fact the opposite , most consider it brings them, "pick up" business that they would not have got otherwise..

That said, the home catalogue system is very widely developed here, ( used to be that way in the UK in the 60's and 70's ), and the shops that work with the existing,incumbent, historic, catalogue companies, just see Amazon as another one..

I am glad that the postal service in my country keeps setting up more and more self service parcel terminals where customers can pick up their parcels 24/7.
